Brittany-Rae Gregory and Franklin Dellinor Rivers III were married Dec. 31 in Memphis. The Rev. Walter W. Reid Jr., an African Methodist Episcopal minister, performed the ceremony at the First Baptist Church.
Dr. Rivers, 29, is the press secretary, in Washington, for Representative Jim Cooper, Democrat of Tennessee. She graduated from Wellesley College, received a master’s degree in mass communications and public relations from Middle Tennessee State University and received a doctoral degree in communications, culture and media studies from Howard University.
She is the daughter of Scedella R. Gregory of Memphis and the late C. Durrell Gregory.
Mr. Rivers, 35, is a human resources business partner at American Airlines in the company’s Washington offices. He graduated from Tennessee State University and received an M.B.A. from Middle Tennessee State.
He is the son of Cheryl F. Rivers and Mr. Rivers Jr. of Little Rock, Ark.
The couple met in 2013 when both were studying at Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro.
