Some care and makeup products will never make friends with low temperatures. So what are the products not to use in winter? We will tell you which ones are best to abandon in the first place (and why). If you want to keep your makeup and protect the epidermis from low temperatures as good as possible, do not forget about the list of beauty products, the use of which in the autumn-winter period should be minimized.
Tonics
In the cold season, it is worth abandoning tonics, especially those that contain alcohol in their composition, since the skin may be dry due to low temperatures outside and dry air in the room. As a result, its sensitivity will certainly increase, just as the tendency to irritation.
Gel-based products
Do not forget that the skin continues to need high-quality hydration in winter, but the choice of products must be approached consciously. It is better to give preference to denser textures and not to use gel-based products.
For example, if it is a serum, it should not be used as an independent product in the winter season even if you have oily or mixed skin types (unlike in summer). Apply it strictly under the cream to avoid excessive drying.
Powder products
In the cold season, it is better to refuse powder products (for example, blush and contouring), as they dry out the skin. With the start of the autumn-winter season, it is better to switch to products with a creamy texture – they will additionally protect the skin in cold and windy conditions.
Pressed powder
Makeup artists recommend abandoning this product for several reasons at once. Firstly, it mattifies the skin too much, though natural radiance without the effect of a mask on the face is fashionable now. Secondly, the powder dries out the epidermis, and in the cold season, the skin is already under constant stress.
Therefore, if you have not done this until now, it’s time to abandon the pressed powder in favor of loose or mineral powder.
Matte lipsticks
In the cold season, matte lipsticks are dangerous because they dry the lips greatly, contributing to the appearance of cracks. It is better to refuse lipsticks with a matte texture at subzero temperatures and use dense and oily options.
Do not forget about the regular use of lip balm or hygienic lipstick based on natural oils.
