Avy Villaraza and Darnell Xavier Thompson are to be married March 1 at Saddle Creek, an events space in Dripping Springs, Texas. Jonathan C. Clatt, who is the lead pastor at Harvest City Church in San Antonio, is to officiate.
The bride, 26, will take her husband’s name. She is a marketing coordinator for Builder Guides, a real estate marketing agency in San Antonio. She graduated from the University of Texas, San Antonio.
She is a daughter of Allyn G. Villaraza and John Villaraza of San Antonio. The bride’s father is a respiratory therapist at the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, and her mother is a registered nurse at University Hospital in San Antonio.
The groom, 29, is a retail manager at Costco in Selma, Texas. He is a son of Guadalupe Thompson and Frank Thompson of Universal City, Texas. The groom’s mother retired as an accountant in Selma. His father retired from the Air Force as a technical sergeant.
The couple met as parishioners at Harvest City Church in 2011.
