Audra Latrice Boltion and Michael Vincent Ortiz were married May 11 at St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn. The Rev. Guy Sbordone performed the ceremony.
Ms. Boltion, 46, is the president of the Boltion Group Public Relations, which specializes in entertainment, brand management and book publishing; it is based in Brooklyn. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College.
She is the daughter of Radiance B. Leslie of North Miami, Fla., and Larry S. Smith of Ozone Park, Queens.
Mr. Ortiz, 36, is an adjunct professor of sociology at Hostos Community College in the Bronx and Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn. Michael graduated from the College of Staten Island and received a master’s degree in sociology from Brooklyn College.
He is the son of Valerie P. Graziano of Staten Island, and Victor Ortiz of Levittown, N.Y.
The couple met in January 2013 at a speed dating event for interracial singles at MUG Lounge, which was in Manhattan. They went on their first date three days later and have been together ever since.
