Recently the Times visited the Natick Soldier Systems Center outside Boston to check out the Army’s newest Meals, Ready to Eat (better known as an M.R.E.): a three-by-five-inch Sicilian-style pizza slice, topped with melt-proof shreds of mozzarella and mild pepperoni. So far it’s received mostly positive reviews from troops.
