Ariana Tae Koblitz and Robert Charles Nicolais were married Oct. 19 at the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City, Queens. Lyle Frank, a judge of the New York City Civil Court, officiated.
The bride, 31, works in Manhattan as an experience designer for the New York Life Insurance Company. She uses data to process and update information regarding usability, accessibility and desirability of a given product. She graduated from Stanford.
She is a daughter of Becky N. Koblitz and Don J. Koblitz of Portland, Ore. The bride’s father retired as the corporate legal counsel for Volkswagen in Beijing and Berlin. Her mother is a retired antitrust prosecutor for the Justice Department.
The groom, 33, is a composition teacher at University Prep Charter High School in the Bronx. He graduated from Ithaca College and received a master’s degree in English education from Brooklyn College.
He is the son of Dr. Mary Jo Sciarrino Nicolais and Dr. Robert A. Nicolais of Liverpool, N.Y. The groom’s mother is a general dentist in Dewitt, N.Y., for Martin and Winkler, a dental office there. His father is the owner of Clay Dental Care in Clay, N.Y.
The couple met online in December 2014.
