Everything about Thanksgiving prep — from basting the bird and skimming gravy to mashing sweet potatoes — demands an apron. Here’s a bright new one to consider. BlueCut, a chef gear company based in Los Angeles, has commissioned Alexandra Bowman, a Black artist, to design the limited-edition apron. It’s made of duck canvas, with brass hardware, and is decorated with the image of a cluster of Black farmers. For every apron purchased, the company will donate at least five aprons to Black-owned restaurants through BCAGlobal. The heavy-duty aprons come in three colors for adults and in two sizes for kids, and there are matching face masks.
Planting Change apron $75 adult, $48 children, face mask $18, bluecutaprons.com.
