Amrita Saigal and Karthish Manthiram were married July 6 at the Boston Burlington Marriott in Burlington, Mass. Rajesh Hariharan, a Hindu priest, officiated.
Ms. Saigal, 31, is the founder and chief executive of Zera, a Boston-based direct-to-consumer business for all-natural baby care products. She graduated from M.I.T. and received an M.B.A. from Harvard.
She is the daughter of Ranjani Saigal and Anil Saigal of Boston. The bride’s father is a professor of mechanical engineering at Tufts. Her mother works in Burlington as the executive director of Ekal Vidyalaya, a nonprofit organization based in Houston that is involved in education and village development in India.
Dr. Manthiram, also 31, is an assistant professor of chemical engineering at M.I.T. He graduated from Stanford and received a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his postdoctoral training at the California Institute of Technology.
He is the son of Rajeswari Manthiram and Arumugam Manthiram of Austin, Tex. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent. His father is a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Texas as well as the director of the Texas Materials Institute at the university.
The couple met in Boston in 2017 after being introduced by a mutual friend of their parents.
