Alyssa Sebastian and Jason Louis Luft were married Aug. 23 at the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Cathedral in Rockville Centre, N.Y. The Rev. Dr. George Oonnoonny performed the ceremony.
Ms. Sebastian, 33, who goes by Abby, is a registered nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Flushing, Queens. She graduated from Binghamton University and from Pace University, from which she also received a master’s degree in nursing. She received a family nurse practitioner certification from the State of New York.
She is the daughter of Alice Sebastian and T.D. Sebastian of Queens Village, Queens. The bride’s father retired as a deputy center director for the New York City Department of Human Resources. Her mother retired as a registered nurse at the Shorefront Jewish Geriatric Center in Brooklyn.
Mr. Luft, 36, is a music teacher at Public School 222 in Brooklyn. He graduated from SUNY Potsdam and received a master’s degree in liberal studies from Stony Brook University.
He is a son of Patricia A. Luft and David J. Luft of Yaphank, N.Y. The groom’s mother owns and manages LuftDataBase, a company in Yaphank that provides consulting and office solutions to nonprofit organizations. His father retired as a sales representative for Interstate Brands, a national distribution company in Medford, N.Y.
The couple met in 2017 on Match.com and had their first date at a Bareburger restaurant in Forest Hills, Queens.
