Alston Alice Ellen Gremillion and Aditya Ramesh Rajagopalan were married June 22. The Rev. Joseph E. Daly, an Episcopal priest, officiated at the Cabildo, a museum in New Orleans. On June 21, Pandit V. Narasimman Srowthy led the couple in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony at the Ritz Carlton, also in New Orleans.
Mrs. Rajagopalan, 27, is a first-year medical student at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and also leads fund-raising for the medical school’s student-run clinic, which provides care for underserved and homeless populations. She graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.
She is a daughter of Ramona Saloom Gremillion and C. Mark Gremillion of Lafayette, La. The bride’s mother is a public relations consultant. The bride’s father is an independent real estate appraiser in Lafayette, and also is a director of the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities in New Orleans.
Mr. Rajagopalan, 28, is a stock analyst, specializing in technology, at Och-Ziff Capital Management, a hedge fund in New York. He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton.
He is the son of Jayashree Rajagopalan and Ramesh Rajagopalan of Glastonbury, Conn. The groom’s parents both work at Pratt & Whitney, the engine manufacturer, in East Hartford, Conn. His mother is the associate director for embedded systems, and his father is the senior fellow discipline lead for control and diagnostic systems.
The couple met in 2008 at Choate Rosemary Hall, the Wallingford, Conn., boarding and day school. She was a sophomore, and in her first year there, and he was a senior. Both played volleyball and so they quickly became friends.
