Allyssa Haley Peterson and Stuart Joseph Wetanson were married June 8 at Lowndes Grove, a plantation house in Charleston, S.C. The Rev. Kristen Barner, a United Church of Christ minister, officiated.
Mrs. Wetanson, 29, is a freelance event planner in New York. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.
She is a daughter of Anne A. Peterson and David A. Peterson of Amelia Island, Fla. The bride’s father is a construction executive for Bechtel, an engineering, procurement, construction, and project management firm based in Reston, Va. He is currently involved with the management of the construction of a new metro system for the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her mother was a stay-at-home parent.
Mr. Wetanson, also 29, is a New York-based restaurateur who is an owner of 14 restaurants, along with his father, Greg Wetanson, and his grandfather, Herb Wetanson, including Dallas BBQ, Tony’s di Napoli and Patrick’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar. He graduated with a degree in hotel administration from Cornell.
He is the son of Maxine O. Wetanson and Mr. Wetanson of Lloyd Harbor, N.Y. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent.
The couple met through mutual friends at a bar in New York in March 2015.
