Alix Elizabeth Dana and Charles Samuel Jensen Rubin were married June 22 at the Arnold House, an events space in Livingston Manor, N.Y. Rabbi Laurie Phillips officiated.
The bride, 30, is the director of a weeklong art fair known as Independent, which takes place annually in March at Spring Studios in Manhattan. She graduated from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
She is a daughter of Grace C. Dana of West Palm Beach, Fla., and James D. Dana of Longmont, Colo. The bride’s father retired as a financial trader with Fortis Investments in Manhattan. Her mother, who works in West Palm Beach, Fla., is a sales associate with the Corcoran Group, a residential real estate brokerage based in Manhattan.
The groom, 33, is a photographer and artist who has been commissioned by The New Yorker, Bloomberg Businessweek, Cultured and Vice, among other publications. His photo-based artwork is a part of the collection of the Henry Art Museum in Seattle and is also on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He graduated from Haverford College and received a master of fine arts degree from the Parsons School of Design in Manhattan.
He is a son of Ea Jensen and Dr. David Rubin, both of New Rochelle, N.Y. The groom’s mother is a textile artist and the director of Ethical Culture Nursery School in White Plains. His father is the chair of the department of pediatrics at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. The groom is the stepson of James Brown, the principal and director of environmental planning at Sam Schwartz Transportation Consultants in Manhattan.
The groom is also the maternal great-grandson of Georg Jensen, the Danish silversmith and jewelry designer.
The couple met in 2012 through mutual friends in Manhattan.
