Alexandra Lara Nemeth and Dmitriy Slavin were married June 22. The Rev. Arthur Golino performed the ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan.
Ms. Nemeth, 30, is a foreign affairs officer in Washington for the State Department, managing a digital campaign for the young African leaders initiative network, a public diplomacy program. She graduated from American University.
She is the daughter of Laura M. Nemeth and Peter S. Nemeth of New Fairfield, Conn. The bride’s father is a manager of the Farmington, Conn., location of Texas de Brazil, a restaurant chain. He is also an owner of Mimi’s, a neighborhood restaurant and piano bar in Manhattan. The bride’s mother is an event manager at the Danbury, Conn., site of Marriott SpringHill Suites hotel.
Mr. Slavin, 31, is an assistant United States attorney in Lexington, Ky. He graduated summa cum laude from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va., and received a law degree from Yale.
He is the son of Yelena Slavina and Mikhail A. Slavin of Forest Hills, Queens. The groom’s mother retired as a customer-service representative in the Bronx for Cablevision. His father retired as a project manager in the Bronx manufacturing facility of Perrigo, a pharmaceutical company.
The couple first met in 2013 at a house party of a mutual friend, but didn’t begin dating until three months later, in 2014, when they matched on both Coffee Meets Bagel and Hinge.
