Alexandra Rose Cassel and Benjamin Steven Schwartz were married March 2 at the Tribeca Rooftop, an events space in New York. Rabbi Joshua Lookstein officiated.
The bride, 29, works in the New York office of the 9 Story Media Group, a Canadian entertainment company based in Toronto, where she is the supervising producer and a writer on “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” a preschool television series on PBS Kids. She is also an author of several children’s books related to the show and published by Simon and Schuster. She graduated magna cum laude from Colgate and received a master’s degree in developmental psychology from Columbia.
She is the daughter of Laura A. Cassel and Dr. Mitchell L. Cassel of New York. The bride’s father is an optometrist and owner of Studio Optix, an optical boutique in New York, where he also provides prop eyewear and special eye effects for the television and movie industries. Her mother, who is retired, was a human resources executive for BlackRock, an investment management company in New York.
The groom, also 29, is the marketing director, in Larchmont, N.Y., for Non-Ferrous Traders, a family-owned metal distributor, for which his father, Robin M. Schwartz, is the president and his mother, Sandra Schwartz, is the financial controller. The groom graduated from Syracuse.
The groom’s parents live in Scarsdale, N.Y.
The couple met in 2017 through the dating app Hinge.
