Abigail Eckardt Ledes and Per Martin Johan Akesson were married Sept. 14 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Bedford, N.Y. The Rev. John A. Zahl, an Episcopal priest, performed the ceremony.
Mrs. Akesson, 28, is a manager at Christie’s International Real Estate in London, the real estate division of Christie’s auction house. She graduated from Trinity College in Hartford and received a master’s degree in history of art and art-world practice from Christie’s Education London in conjunction with the University of Glasgow.
She is a daughter of George MacGill Ledes of Bedford, and the late Allison Eckardt Ledes. The bride’s father is the former president and chief executive of Beauty Fashion and Cosmetic World magazines in New York. He now has a digital newsletter focused on the beauty industry. Her mother was the editor in chief of the Magazine Antiques in New York.
Mr. Akesson, who is 32 and known as Martin, is a London-based investor in Swedish real estate. He is on the board of Portia, a family-owned fashion company in Malmo, Sweden, founded by his paternal great-grandfather. He graduated from Copenhagen Business School, from which he also received a master’s degree in applied economics and finance.
He is the son of Eva Akesson and Jockum Akesson of Ljunghusen, Sweden. The groom’s father is the chief executive of Portia. His mother is a stay-at-home parent.
The couple met in London in 2013 when the groom was working in investment banking and the bride was studying for a master’s degree.
