Abigail Elizabeth Gravenhorst and Ian Christopher Strug were married May 11 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Chicago. The Rev. Rex Pillai performed the ceremony.
Ms. Gravenhorst, 29, is a senior business manager in Chicago for Capital One Services, a unit of Capital One Bank, where she oversees a team within United States card partnerships. She graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt.
She is a daughter of Terese S. Gravenhorst and Hugo H. Gravenhorst of Chicago. The bride’s father is a managing director in the Lake Forest, Ill., office of Black Diamond Commercial Finance, a unit of Black Diamond Capital Management, a private equity firm based in Greenwich, Conn. The bride’s mother is an executive director in the Chicago office of JPMorgan Chase, where she works with the global trade and loan products unit.
Mr. Strug, 31, is a founder and the chief customer officer of Virgo SVS, a cloud-based digital health care company used by endoscopists and surgeons for video recordings and managing surgical procedures. He also graduated from Vanderbilt.
He is the son of Susan F. Strug and Christopher G. Strug of Westborough, Mass. The groom’s mother is a team leader in the proposals department for eClinicalWorks, an electronic medical records software company in Westborough, where she answers questions about the product from prospective clients. The groom’s father is the director of global business development for ThreatConnect, a commercial cyber security software company based in Arlington; he works from home.
The couple first met in 2015 in Chicago through the dating app Hinge.
