In today’s Covid-racked society, small, carefully orchestrated family gatherings are especially precious during the Jewish High Holy Days. In a virtual program by the 92nd Street Y, Jake Cohen, a chef and the author of “Jew-ish: Reinvented Recipes From a Modern Mensch,” will discuss the importance of family and togetherness for the holidays with Rabbi Samantha Frank, the director of Jewish education at the 92nd Street Y. He will also demonstrate how to make honey-baked Brie with apples.
“Food, Faith and Family: A High Holidays Cooking Class With Jake Cohen,” 7 p.m., Aug. 31, $34 including a copy of the book, 92y.org/class/food-faith-and-family.aspx.
