No need to save this delicious stunner for Rosh Hashana. Even though Breads Bakery has introduced it for the holiday, the Crown Medjool, a handsome ring of laminated croissant-style pastry filled with a creamy date purée, can be nibbled with morning coffee or served as an afternoon snack, or would make a grand entrance at dinner. It keeps quite well for a few days at room temperature.
The Crown Medjool, $31.95, for pick up or delivery; Rosh Hashana assortment shipped nationwide (not including the Crown Medjool), $79.95; Breads Bakery, 18 East 16th Street or 1890 Broadway (63rd Street), 212-633-2253, breadsbakery.com.
