Your love of lines, dark lipsticks and glowing skin spoils the whole image. How to look great after 45 years with the right makeup? Avoid these anti-age makeup mistakes!
Glowing skin
Glowing skin (sometimes even too glowing) is in fashion now, but this technique can sometimes emphasize wrinkles. The way out is to use products with a matte effect: primers, foundation, and powders.
The same rule applies to the now popular highlighter – a cosmetic product for glowing skin. In the modern beauty industry, it is spent without sparing, but there are certain measures when it comes to anti-aging makeup. Do not apply highlighter or any glowing product on the entire face. Focus on certain areas instead: for example, on the cheekbones and on the bones under the eyebrows.
Fear of pearlescent shadows
There is a stereotype that pearlescent eye shadows cannot be used after a certain age. The opinion is only partly true: they really should not be applied to the lower eyelid, since they emphasize facial wrinkles in the eyes. It is better to have matte textures for the lower eyelid. For the upper eyelids, the mother of pearl is quite suitable – this is the place where glowing is appropriate.
Women often think that bright lipsticks and shadows will help them get rejuvenated. In fact, everything should happen the other way around. Soft makeup in beige-golden-peach shades will refresh the look.
Experiments with dark lipsticks
Unfortunately, all dark lipsticks make lips visually smaller. All pink and beige shades add freshness to the look. Just be careful when choosing the color – some shades of pink will make your teeth seem yellow.
The shape of eyebrows
In youth, you can still leave your eyebrows unattended; however, with age they require attention – as a rule, they get thinner and turn gray. Use a gel or lipstick for eyebrows 1-2 tones lighter than your hair. Unlike a pencil, they will last longer.
Fear of cool shades
Some are afraid to add cool shades to makeup and clothes, believing that such a range will make the face paler. In fact, with the right choice of shades, it can refresh the look. Brown blush and sculptors (products for the famous contouring technique, which emphasizes cheekbones) have a warm shade and often make their owner visually older.
When it comes to anti-age makeup, makeup artists advise using a pinkish matte blush. This is an ideal product that will slightly rejuvenate its owner.
Falling lines
The younger generation also has problems with drawing. But after a certain age, the inability to make lines turns into a global catastrophe. It’s not just about skills, but also about difficulty.
Baggy eyelids (although for some, this is an anatomical rather than age-related feature) makes the line disappear or turn into a broken one. You can solve the problem, if you apply any shade of dark instead of eyeliner to the entire upper eyelid and even slightly above the fold. This technique will visually hide the overhanging fold.
Concealer without measure
Concealer is a convenient thing that neutralizes the blue under the eyes. No matter how bad your situation may be, you should not use it in several layers, hoping that you will hide all the shortcomings in this way. On the contrary, if you overuse the product, it will be too noticeable. It is better to take a primer or cream for the skin around the eyes, and then use a light concealer. One layer will be enough.
