Chefs and food writers are up for grabs, for a price. Winners in this online auction will get a 30-minute one-on-one with the chef or writer. The #AskChefsAnything auction starts Wednesday at 10 a.m. and continues through 8 p.m. on May 3, when the winning bidders will be announced. The minimum bid is $100. The funds raised in New York will be used to help immigrant workers and their families in the Bronx (through the Mercy Center). Other cities have come onboard, including Los Angeles (auction begins May 6) and Philadelphia (May 13), and their aid workers will also be beneficiaries. Among the experts up for auction are Eric Ripert, Enrique Olvera, Alex Raij, Danny Bowien, Dana Cowin, Jody Williams, Riad Nasr, Dan Kluger, Dan Barber, Einat Admony and Justin Smillie.
