FRONT BURNER
Two utensils available at the Museum of Modern Art make dessert presentation a breeze.
A holiday season essential is a dessert server. There’s a sleek and slender new pie server at the MoMA Design Store. The Tola Spatula is a thin, tapering 10-inch shaft of stainless steel that slips neatly under a wedge of pie to transfer it from pan to plate. And it’s called a spatula for good reason; it doubles as one at the stove. MoMA has another server, the One-Handed Cake Server, also stainless steel, that releases a wedge of dessert by pressing the handle. There’s a limited supply of those for now; more are expected next month.
Tola Spatula, $30 ($27 for members); One-Handed Cake Server (after Dec. 10), $12, ($10.80 for members), store.moma.org.
