Chanel is opening its first U.S. store dedicated to watches and fine jewelry in the iconic Crown Building on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue. The number five of course holds great significance for the luxury house—not only was it founder Gabrielle Chanel’s lucky number, but it remains the name of Chanel’s signature perfume. Thoughtfully designed by architect Peter Marino, a New Yorker and longtime friend of the brand, the two-story boutique is an homage to the Paris flagship at 18 Place Vendôme, heavily influenced by Chanel herself, as well as her unparalleled taste for interiors. The store is set to carry fine and high jewelry collections, in addition to watches, and offers shoppers exclusive access to limited-edition launches, early releases, and customization, while showcasing some standout archival pieces.
