There are some treasures to gather at Frutas y Verduras, the fruit and vegetable stand at Little Spain, the Spanish food hall at Hudson Yards. You can find artichokes, asparagus and ruffled lettuces in lots of places, but here they’re shown alongside beautifully arrayed ribbony romano beans, eight inches long, to simmer until tender ($3 a pound). Check out the boxes of bright green organic padrón peppers ($7 a pint), which is the variety they sizzle in olive oil and sea salt in Northern Spain; the peppers are plumper, meatier and fruitier than the shishitos that are usually served in the United States. And there are dried, round, mahogany ñora peppers ($1 each), essential for romesco sauce to slather on grilled leeks for a seasonal Catalan treat.
