Alemi & Roess Receive Funding For Project On Digital Health Solutions For COVID-19
Farrokh Alemi, Professor, Health Administration and Policy, and Amira Roess, Professor of Global Health and Epidemiology, are evaluating the effectiveness of at-home testing with symptom screening to demonstrate that symptom screening with a predictive algorithm combined with at-home testing is more effective than at-home testing alone.
“The project shows how the combination of symptom screening and in-home testing can be more accurate than either one by itself. The project opens new opportunities for infection control through testing everyone in a well-defined population, such as door-to-door testing in a zip code area,” Alemi said.
The researchers received $216,999 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for this project. Funding began in April 2021 and will end in late August 2021.
