The Mariinsky Theater’s Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev will present a concert in Almetyevsk (Republic of Tatarstan) on April 18 with the support of TATNEFT Company.
The concert will be organized within the framework of the XVIth Moscow Easter Festival, dedicated to the 135th birth anniversary of the outstanding Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. The symphonic program of the festival will include music pieces by I.F. Stravinsky, P.I. Tchaikovsky, S.V. Rakhmaninov and M.I. Glinka.
The Moscow Easter Festival is an annual forum of classical music held following the initiative of Valery Gergiev, director and artistic administrator of the Mariinsky Theater. During three weeks of the Festival, which will start on April 16, musicians of the Symphony Orchestra will perform in more than 20 regions of Russia.
