New Delhi: The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) today announced 13 paise per liter hike in petrol prices along with 12 paise per liter cut in diesel rates in order to align the domestic rates of the automobile fuels with global benchmarks.

Post the price revision, to be effective from midnight, non-branded petrol will be priced at Rs 66.10 per liter in Delhi while every liter of Diesel will cost Rs 54.57 per liter.

“The current level of international product prices of Petrol and Diesel and the Rupee-Dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of Petrol and decrease in selling prices of Diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to consumers with this price revision,” Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the nation’s largest fuel retailer said.

It added the movement of prices in the international oil market and the Rupee-Dollar exchange rate will continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes.

Prices of the two fuels were last revised on 16 November through a cut of Rs 1.69 per liter in petrol while diesel rates were slashed by Rs 1.7 per liter.
