OPEC does not have any objections to speed of Russias’ cutting oil production, the cartel’s Secretary General Mohamed Barkindo told reporters as he came to Kuwait to take part in a meeting of the monitoring committee.

No arguments about it, he said in response to a question.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih said Russia was cutting the oil production too slowly.

Reporters asked the OPEC official to comment on how Russia’s biggest producer Rosneft was cutting the output. Rosneft is not a member of OPEC, Barkindo answered with a smile, our deal was with Russia, not with Rosneft.

The agreement on production cut between OPEC and non-cartel producers expires in June. At OPEC’s meeting on May 25, parties to the agreement will consider extending the term, but prior to that should be a meeting of the monitoring committee at the level of ministers to analyze how obligations under the agreement were observed.
