On the Bangladeshi side Minister of Science and Technology Yafes Osman was the co-chairman of the meeting. Besides, separate meetings were held with Minister of Finance Abul Muhith and Principal Minister of Prime Ministers Office Abul Azad. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Alexander Ignatov also took part in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the entire agenda concerning construction of a nuclear power plant with two reactors of 1,200 MW in Bangladesh. As mutually agreed, the focus was on issues related to coming into force of the general contract for construction of Rooppur NPP and launching the main construction phase on the site. The coordinated decisions were put on the record adopted following the meeting results.
The hand-over ceremony of the site license was conducted that is one of the mandatory conditions for the general contract to come into force.
The representatives of ROSATOM, Rostechnadzor and the Group of Companies ASE made a working visit to the Rooppur NPP construction site where they held a meeting with the management of the Directorate. Necessary decisions have been made to ensure that the first concrete will be by middle of the next year.
